We have been established since 2011 and our dedicated team has never stopped delivering high quality meals using locally sourced ingredients, from markets local to our restaurant.
We have built a direct relationship with farmers in the Pampa region of both Argentina and Uruguay. Our breed of choice is the black Angus and all our meat is grass fed, we do make sure our partners treat the cattle well and have plenty of space to grow.
We have recently started sourcing Irish black Angus from our broker in Smithsfield due to unpredictable transport challenges and export rules.
The spread of the coronavirus infection, COVID-19 is of significant concern to all of us at Meat People and we are absolutely committed to protect the safety and welfare of all of our staff and you, our guests.
We?d like to reassure you that we are monitoring the guidance being produced by Public Health England and ensuring that their recommendations are acted upon without delay. All our team members have been clearly briefed and all understand that their actions can help to avoid the spread of COVID-19.
We have strict guidelines in place that our staff must report any signs of illness or potential contacts with family, friends or colleagues who may be ill before attending work without exception.
We can 100% guarantee that no staff have returned to the UK from any of the affected countries as defined by Public Health England within the last 14 days.
However, it has been our policy since this outbreak started, that any staff who return from travel to any of the affected countries will be asked to self-quarantine for a period of 14 days, irrelevant of whether they are ill or not as a safety precaution
We have also reminded our staff of the need to maintain impeccable personal hygiene standards and as a minimum they have to wash their hands upon arrival at the restaurant and at least every 30 minutes no matter what task they are completing.
As always, we are thoroughly cleaning the Restaurant and paying extra attention to all surfaces such as door handles, bathrooms and tables. In return and In order to help avoid any transmission within the restaurant, we are also asking that all guests sanitise their hands upon arrival making use of the hand gel that can be provided by our staff and of course, washing hands with soap in our bathrooms.
We believe that our approach is robust but we are monitoring our sources of advice for updates constantly and will amend our protocols accordingly.
Due to the current crisis we are only taking bookings of a maximum of 6 people and the restaurant will welcome only 18 people at any one time.

From the Alfredo’s days back in 1929 we've kept a sign outside, but also a strong culinary spirit that will never go away! Inside these walls there is the same history shared by generations of restauranteurs and chefs, a passion for good food, comfortable, reliable recipes from our mothers, our grandmothers and from our taste buds memories of childhood. The frontage and interior is grade II listed, and as we are just temporary occupiers of this timeless space, our duty is to carry on with the same spirit of preparing quality meals in a homely environment, with familiar kitchen smells and an appreciation for simple things done well.

We take all our inspiration from classical cuisine, from the Escoffier school of culinary Arts. Our strong Argentinian roots have naturally driven us to grilling steaks and that's what gave us our reputation for offering high quality meat. We prepare all our food from scratch and make our own bread. Our chefs cook a la minute and we pride ourselves in having a long list of affordable signature dishes along our Grill section. We offer a large variety and style of dishes (starters, small plates, grill, tapas and stews). Every day our chefs challenge themselves with a regularly changing menu according to the market and season. We are an Argentinian and French bistro, but we also take influences from English classics that you might find in our breakfast or mains from time to time. As an independent intimate restaurant we care deeply for our employees wellbeing and consider our customers as friends and family.

For the last 2 months we’ve been engaging with our suppliers whilst we kept our menu prices unchanged, unfortunately our use of local and seasonal ingredients have not been spared by the recent increases. We regret that we have to slightly readjust our prices to reflect the increase however we have squeezed as much as possible to limit the negative impact on your wallets.
